Dad who has everything — How about a colourised black & white photo?

So, it’s that time of year again when you’re trying to think of birthday gift ideas for Dad. He has everything and doesn’t want anything — I’m sure it’s a common problem!  I decided to colourise a black & white photo, so I scanned his favourite old family photo and got started!

Luckily I have a box full of old family photos (from my Dad’s side), which I have been slowly scanning — so getting hold of the photo wasn’t a problem. The photo is of my Grandad on the beach in Whitstable with his Brother, Mother and Grandmother.

It fascinates me to see a photo (c1925) of my Great and Great Great Grandmother! I love the look on my Great Great Grandmother’s face and how the boys they are sitting on a fishing boat with a bucket and a full-size spade!

My Dad loved the colourised photo and is planning on showing his work colleagues and sharing it with his cousin (his Dad is the other boy in the photo) That’s exactly why I do what I do — for us to share those moments!

If you have found this page in search of the Harris family tree, the following photos might be of interest to you:

Colouring a black & white photo also makes a good Father’s Day gift idea.
